Erie County Project LAUNCH is a team effort that helps kids and their families grow up healthier and happier. Project LAUNCH works with different local organizations that collaborate to make sure kids get the care they need. This project is committed to reducing the stigma of mental illness and to providing resources to families.
Stigma is when people think badly of someone or treat them unfairly because of something they can’t control, like a health problem or a mental illness. Sometimes people start to think of themselves as a problem or less important because of their illness. This is called internalized stigma, and it can make people unsure, afraid, or even stop them from asking for help with their feelings or behaviors. We are asking adults with a diagnosed mental illness to complete this screening tool.
Knowing how you may be impacted by internalized stigma will help Project LAUNCH develop resources to better support you.
